My name is John Newton, founder of Jumping J-jays in Australia. I want to provide you several tips on renting a jumping castle. I provide these from my 11 years of experience and my 6 years of engineering a lot of jumping inflatables and inspecting castles all around the world.

TIPS
1) Pay a deposit for your castle. This is a part payment and if you do not have this together with a contract you have no guarantee. Unfortunately there are a lot of bad companies out there and you may be disappointed on your day when the inflatable does not come. You would never book an airline ticket without a deposit, you would never pre order a car without a deposit and you would never see a concert without paying for them in advance.
2) See the Castle: Probably the biggest issues out there. There are a lot of dangerous toy castles out there that people buy from eBay for $200 and think they can rent out. When they arrive you have paid all your money and wonder why the castle does not work with 8 kids and so on. You can see a Jumping J-Jays castle on our website in 3D or hundreds of birthday parties every month in and around Adelaide. A typical jumping castle to buy is from $2,000 to $10,000.
3) See the Insurance: Do not just ask if the company has insurance ask for the paper. It is becoming quite common is this tougher economic market that small uninsured companies are saying they have insurance but do not.
4) Inflatable Walls: I have engineered or been a part of manufacturing over 1200 different companies around the world and no netted walled castle is as safe as a typical inflatable walled castle. Netted walled castles have been banned in a lot of countries around the world and the latest has been seen in Melbourne. Do not take the risk on your kids at your party. Ask for the inflatable walled castle from Jumping J-jays or any other reputable company.
